Background
Sergei brings over two decades of experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC), with a solid track record in both user and administrative roles. His expertise spans a wide range of scientific applications and services, including Apptainer, PacBio, cryoSPARC, CLC Genomics Workbench, JupyterHub, Geneious Server, and more.
In his most recent role, Sergei maintained a 3000+ core HPC cluster at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), monitoring performance and collaborating with researchers to develop submission scripts. His contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the NIAID Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology CIO Award “For Outstanding Commitment To Excellence in the Support of the OCICB Mission.”
Sergei is also an accomplished researcher with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wesleyan University and a patent titled Drug screening target for Alzheimer’s disease and method of screening potential drugs.
Personal Interests:
In his spare time Sergei listens to jazz music, watches Formula 1 and detective Columbo series over and over again, readshistorical memoirs, enjoys oil painting, gardening and winemaking, plays an acoustic guitar, cooks, travels and studiesfinance.
