Background
Kellie was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and received her bachelors of business administration from the University of Cincinnati, majoring in information systems and management.
After moving to the Washington DC area, Kellie joined Thomson Reuters, where she held several positions in the financial performance and analytics business unit, supporting mutual fund pricing software. Later, she would join the life sciences team where she provided project delivery services for Discovery Logic (a Thomson Reuters company). In this role, Kellie managed scientific research, consultation, analysis and data output-related projects for non-profit organizations as well as several of NIH’s institutes such as NCI, NIAID, and NIEHS.
Kellie continued to build her project management skills by transitioning into software development. She was instrumental in the launch of an academic research management tool (Research In View) at the Ohio State University, as well as other academic and research institutions such as Fred Hutchinson. In the various projects she was involved in, Kellie was fortunate to work closely with many diverse cultural teams across the world including teams in Germany and in India.
Prior to joining BioTeam, Kellie worked as a senior project manager at Docupace Technologies, delivering both out-of-box and custom software solutions for institutions within the financial industry. These projects involved FINRA compliant solutions driven by SEC regulations.
Working with top scientists during her time with Discovery Logic developed a strong interest in the work that is being done with science and technology and has drawn Kellie back to using her science-related project management skills at BioTeam. She believes in the importance of not only the science and technology that is being delivered, but also the process of developing organization of the project work, organization of the people involved and maintaining a clear view of the goals to achieve effectively and successfully.
