Jennifer joined Bioteam in 2024 with over 25 years of research experience in genomics and computational biology and having led high performance teams in both biotech and academic settings. As the Principal for Data Science and Ecosystems, she harnesses the team’s collective expertise to tackle challenging data problems and advance biotech research initiatives.

Background

Before joining BioTeam, Jennifer was the Vice President for Clinical Discovery and Research Technologies at Seres Therapeutics, leading the teams responsible for multi-omic microbiome data generation, algorithm development, and integrative data analysis, as well as the computational infrastructure supporting R&D. Jennifer was also responsible for R&D support of clinical trials and execution of microbiome endpoints and contributed key analyses and BLA content facilitating the approval of Vowst, the first oral microbiome therapeutic.

Prior to Seres, Jennifer was the Director of Microbial Informatics at the Broad Institute, responsible for the software development and analytical strategies supporting the NIAID-funded Genome Center for Infectious Diseases (GCID), providing the computational framework and analysis strategies supporting population genomics of microbial pathogens.  That followed three years as Associate Director of Bioinformatics at the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she was the co-Principal Investigator of the Human Microbiome Project’s Data Analysis and Coordination Center (HMP DACC).

Jennifer has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and has made significant contributions to the published genome analyses of human, mouse, fruit fly and mosquito as well as diverse pathogenic fungi, parasites and bacteria.

Personal Interests:

Jennifer enjoys travel, live theater and concerts, fantasy novels, rustic baking and craft cocktails.
