Contact Information

Brandon Patton is a Principal at BioTeam, responsible for the strategic direction of our networking, storage, high-performance computing, and cloud infrastructure practices. Brandon brings over 20 years of experience supporting, designing, and leading enterprise and service provider network environments.

After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Brandon started his career at Cisco Systems, supporting enterprise and service provider customers. He utilized this experience to help him obtain CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) status and present on routing technologies at Cisco Live, Cisco’s annual conference. Seeking to make a more significant impact, he transitioned to a consulting role, responsible for designing, implementing, and testing custom solutions. Some notable projects included developing low-latency multicast networks for financial services firms to optimize trading transactions and implementing new MPLS features for tier-1 service providers for better scalability.

After his time at Cisco, Brandon joined Biogen, where he became the lead of the Global Network Services Operations and Engineering team. In addition to leading day-to-day engineering and operations, he led a major project to redesign and expand the Research and Development network infrastructure. This project involved providing high-speed connectivity for lab equipment, increasing aggregate backbone bandwidth, and establishing cloud connectivity across a diverse path of dedicated and Internet2 circuits. This experience inspired him to look for more opportunities to use his expertise to advance science, leading him to a consulting role at BioTeam.
