What if my tool or reference dataset is not on your list?

The Galaxy Appliance is an open system so you are free to install whatever informatics tools or datasets you need for use both within Galaxy and on the command-line.

What if I need more memory or storage?

It is possible to integrate multiple appliances together to create a mini-cluster.  If you are interested in this option please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

Do you support updates to any tools or datasets?

We currently support updates for the Galaxy instance itself and the system configuration of the appliance.  We do not support any updates to tools or datasets that are either shipped out of the box or are installed by the end-users.  This is because different researchers have different preferences for how to accept and manage new versions of tools.

Can I run tools on the command-line?

Yes, you may.

How long does it take to get an appliance?

It typically takes 5-7 weeks to get your appliance.

How many users does the appliance support?

It really depends on the type of workloads that are being run on the appliance and how active the users are.  Because there is a job scheduler on the system, there isn’t necessarily a limit to the number of users but there may be wait times. The ideal situation is up to 10 heavy/daily users on the system at once and up to 40 intermittent/weekly users.
