Director, Scientific Computing
Mike is a senior technologist with extensive experience working in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry helping to define and build computing solutions to address scientific challenges.
Outside of BioTeam Mike spends time at soccer practices helping to coach his son’s travel team. He can also be found at the occasional New England Revolution game, baking pizza, and trying to finish that book before it’s due at the library.
Mike already has a strong connection with BioTeam tracing back to time spent with Chris Dagdigian at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Most recently he worked with Steve Lister to build out the global HPC environment for the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where he also assumed an interim role there as Global Lead, Scientific Computing. Mike has experience spanning traditional HPC and Cloud architectures as well as computational chemistry, informatics, data science, machine learning, and delivering broad IT DevOps support for scientific computing in the pharmaceutical industry. Mike has a M.S. in Bioinformatics from Brandeis University and has been supporting science for over 20 years.
